Two of the most asked about areas and talked about topics at our Internet Marketing Seminars are Google rankings and Social Media. And of course the relationship of the two together. 

We include in our packages various products such a Facebook property search app. and we build professional business pages for Facebook, Twit and Linked in. and link all three together BUT BY FAR THE BEST VALUE FOR MONEY OF ALL OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES IS ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE ON ALL OF THE ABOVE.

What agents need is clear simple language advice and assistance relevant to their business. 

Just a few very simple non cost strategies can rocket your company up the Google rankings for search criteria in your area location.

Claiming, editing and getting reviews onto your Google Places page.

Put the youngest person in the office in charge of your Social Media coverage and allocate one hour per week of their time.

Write the odd Blog, like this one, and link back to a News/Blog page on your website. (It always amuses me how in every other walk of life we talk about a Blog but estate agents don’t like ‘Blog’ so call it ‘News’) Whatever you call it it is a post on your website that you write and encourage people to read by ‘linking’ back from other avenues i.e. Facebook, Twit.

And don’t forget email! Rightmove recently announced that nearly 20% of the traffic to their Portal came through mobile devices the majority of this contact is from people accessing links from emails received on their mobile devices. Send links by email to Google places and ask customers to post review. You can do the same for Agent Tracker. Use FB and Twit html logos on your email signature and ask people to like and follow.

But the overwhelming message from this blog is get good unbiased advise and spend a little time ‘engaging’ or delegate a little time for someone else to ‘engage’. Advise always at hand from us!

We have been re-visiting Newton Abbot, Torquay, Paignton and Babbacombe on the back of the Internet marketing Seminars in the area.

Jeremy Harford-Tapp covered in some detail agents own website Search Engine Optimisation. He showed a brief analysis of some of the agent websites who were present at the Seminar and offered invaluable advise on ‘upping their game’.
On top of agent websites we looked at getting the best out of Google Places listings and the ‘marmite’ factor – Social Media! (Like it or hate it it’s here to stay and more importantly Google love it).
The individual agent mobile websites were demonstrated and got a big ‘thumbs up’ from all attending agents many ordering their own mobile websites there and then at or shortly after the Seminar.

The high intensity Seminar was lead by Jeremy Harford-Tapp MD of Homeflow (who along with Radarhomes were the joint sponsors of the Seminar.)

The focus today was on agent websites, SEO (search engine optimisation) leading onto the whole gambit of Internet marketing. With an analysis of mobile websites (which we are now building for our agents) and how they should work and link into existing software systems.

We looked at the increasing emphasis put upon personal contact and in particular the value of Staff Profiles driven, in no short measure, by the rise and rise of social media. How putting staff ‘out there’ in our Internet Marketing strategy to the same degree as we do in the office environment improves our ‘likeability’ with the customer and onto higher levels of lead generation.

Speaking was Jeremy Tapp MD Homeflow. (Seminar jointly sponsored by Radarhomes and Homeflow.)

Areas covered at Seminars were:

• Websites – normal and mobile
• SEO tips for keeping onside with ‘google’ cost free campaign
• Social Media
• Property Portals

We looked at individual agent websites, generally not individually, with regard to SEO (search engine optimisation). Jeremy listed the areas where Google ‘rate’ information so recognisable text, links in and out, quality in terms of even spelling they rate now! Length of time in business. He emphasised that links away from company website to other sites and places i.e. Council Planning Offices were good not bad! People re-visit site to find a ‘cool’ link they found – nothing to do with original search. So we are looking to maximise traffic.

Jeremy spoke about the performance and the comparison between the major Portals with particular consideration to Find a Prop and Zoopla because of the looming merger. And of course the ever increasing dominance of Rightmove.

He spoke about the trends towards ‘Clound’ or ‘on line’ based systems and ‘joined up’ platforms and how social media like FB are all starting to ‘like’ each other in terms of technology so it is all about ‘share and be friendly’ rather than being protective.

As Knowle was mostly Radarhomes agencies many offices have embraced various Social Media platforms so the emphasis was all about making best use of these platforms. At the Leicester Seminar were mostly Radarhomes prospect agencies who don’t have the ‘property search app.’ as provided by Radarhomes, so we went into much more detail about the ‘hows and whys’ of Social Media. Good SEO practices was of particular interest to all Agents.

Most Radar members websites they will have a link to FB and on their FB page will be a ‘property search app’ these pages may have been created by Radar but the property search will have been built and installed by Radar – free to members.

This year looking forward it will be about a good mobile website – relatively inexpensive as an individual investment but important to get them right! Again through Radar membership as with FB pages this service is FREE TO MEMBERS.

Again free to members on the Standard package is an individual SEO assessment of your agent website and advise on maximising performance at NO COST. This was also discussed in much detail.
